Mic-Pro, ou un collectif né d'un savant mélange d'identités. Un DJ SEK "KESSEY", trois MC's, V.U.L-Kappa alias Vulkain, Ruddy Lapoz et Mr J-L et un principe commun : “Rapper sans négliger ni le fond ni la forme”. “Les modes passent”, leur premier opus, actuellement dans les bacs et en téléchargement, risque lui de laisser son empreinte.
L'histoire commence en 2002. A l'époque, V.U.L-Kappa alias Vulkain et Ruddy Lapoz viennent se greffer au collectif Mic-Pro, impulsé par DJ SEK "KESSEY" et Mr J-L un an plus tôt. Autour d’une passion commune pour le rap et la culture hip-hop, les quatre artistes s’accordent à dire qu’ils “refusent de suivre la tendance et préfèrent rester fidèles aux sources du rap : un beat, une basse et un sample”. Ici pas besoin d’auto-tune, de prods électro ou de quelconque artifice. Les paroles et les flows des MC's suffisent à elles seules à donner l’âme de leur musique : sincère et loin des clichés gangsta. Le tout est mixé par SEK "KESSEY". Le DJ y laisse son empreinte Time Bomb et on sent comme une envie d’annoncer la relève… Parallèlement, les trois MC's préparent tous leurs albums solos, “Des projets beaucoup plus introspectifs”, déclare Mr J-L. Mais ça, c'est une autre histoire…
Mic-Pro, or a collective born from a clever mix of identities. A DJ SEK "KESSEY", three MC's, V.U.L-Kappa alias Vulkain, Ruddy Lapoz and Mr J-L and a common principle: “rapping without neglecting either the substance or the form". “The modes pass”, their first opus, in bins and in download/streaming, risks leaving its mark.
The story begins in 2002. At the time, V.U.L-Kappa alias Vulkain and Ruddy Lapoz joined the collective Mic Pro, led by DJ SEK "KESSEY" and Mr J-L a year earlier. Around a common passion for rap and hip-hop culture, the four artists agree that they “refuse to follow the trend and prefer to remain faithful to the sources of rap: a beat, a bass and a sample ". Here there is no need for auto-tune, electro prods or any device. The lyrics and flows of MC's are enough to give the soul of their music: sincere and far from gangsta clichés. Everything is mixed by SEK "KESSEY". The DJ leaves his Time Bomb imprint there and we feel like a desire to announce the next generation… At the same time, the three MC's are preparing all their solo albums, “Much more introspective projects”, says Mr J-L. But that's another story…
